Marunouchi Illumination 2025
An Elegant 1.2 km Winter Cityscape Wrapped in Champagne-Gold Lights
Now in its 24th year, the Marunouchi Illumination is a classic Tokyo winter tradition. Along the main street, Marunouchi Naka-dori, about 1.2 km of trees are lit with approximately 1 million LEDs in Marunouchi’s original “Champagne Gold” color, creating a refined and luxurious atmosphere.
A key highlight this year is the collaboration with the social experiment project “Marunouchi Street Park 2025 Winter,” held along Marunouchi Naka-dori and Gyoko-dori. Under the illuminations, a Christmas market and food trucks—up to 19 stalls, the largest number so far—offer winter-only menus, hot drinks, and holiday goods.
On Gyoko-dori, which connects Tokyo Station and the Outer Garden of the Imperial Palace, a Christmas tree is being installed and illuminated for the first time, transforming the entire area into a warm, festive world of light.

At KITTE, a shopping complex directly connected to Tokyo Station’s Marunouchi South Exit, the winter event “A Blindingly Bright Silver World: Christmas on the Meadow” transforms the atrium into a silver-lit wonderland. A massive 13-meter-tall main Christmas tree stands at the center, surrounded by about 65,000 white LEDs that spread across the space like a glowing meadow.
The biggest highlight is the approximately three-minute “Silver Meadow Lighting Show” held every day. Using the atrium’s height and architecture to the fullest, the show combines light and music for a dramatic, immersive experience. A 4-meter-long “Kamakura Snow Hut” object, inspired by traditional snow huts from snowy regions in Japan, also appears around the tree, becoming a popular immersive photo spot where you feel as if you’ve stepped into a silver winter world.
